Doesn't your recruiter tell you that kind of stuff? No sir, you do not. You don't get a break til the day you leave boot camp. Don't worry so much. Movies and media put boot camp out there like its total hell for 8 weeks or however long it is this time. Its not. Its tolerable. But no, you don't get a weekend off or a break.

The short answer is no. You will be permitted an hour or so for church on Sunday. If you don't go to church, I would recommend that you go, the chapel is the only place on base where you will have a chance to mentally escape for awhile and get away from your DI. I don't think they are allowed in the chapel for the trainees. We used Sundays before and after church to study, finish getting our crap straight for inspections, and other fun things like that. If your recruiter told you you would have weekends off, get it in writing. I think that would have your DI laughing for hours, then chewing your *** off.

I'm not so sure about army, but in the Marines you get an few hours off each day, and you get most of Sunday off. Ask your local recruiter for more information

No, except on Sunday if you decide to goto the church services, then you get a few hours off, and usually on sunday is a pretty relaxed day for the most part. unless you have @$$hole drill sgts.

Surely you jest! The DI will hate you just as much on weekends as during the week.

Hell No! They are gonna make a man out of you, and they can't do that by giving you weekends off..lol

But TRUST ME man, it's for your own good, once you're in a real combat situation like Iraq, you will see how it helped out.

During Basic you train or are permitted to attend church services. Your life is theirs for the time period.
