Try lemon juice and Nizoral antidandruff medicated shampoo. It really works. Apply lemon juice (fresh) on your scalp and leave it for several hours then wash your hair and scalp using nizoral shampoo. Once resolved try to change your usual shampoo let say every month or two because using same shampoo makes sort of chemical build up which can irritate and could result to skin dryness thus flaking. Wash your hair and scalp regularly ,it will help a lot to eliminate dead skin before it can build up into larger flakes. After bath moist your scalp with little oil (vaseline or any baby oil) and avoid overexposure to the sun and another thing that you have to practice is avoiding warm water to wash your scalp. Keep using cool water to wash your scalp as warm water adds scalp dryness and increase flaking. Hope this helps.

There are different types of dandruff. Here are few helping tips for you.

There is a greasy dandruff which is commonly found on greasy hair caused by not washing the hair enough. Very gross, can be cured by washing hair more often.

Dry scalp is sometimes mistaken for dandruff. Maybe you just need a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. If your scalp is dry you really might only need to massage some conditioner on the scalp and let it sit for a bit. Also, use a leave-in-conditioner spray, it will add moisture and keep from flaking as much. If you just have dry scalp and are using dandruff shampoo it will just make things worse and will dry the scalp more.

Dry dandruff can be cured for by using a good dandruff shampoo, I would stay away from store products and look more at a product like Paul Mitchell Tea Tree, alot of dermatologist recomment it to their clients.

Try this natural ethnobotanical shampoo. Works very well.

This therapeutic botanical shampoo is formulated with clematis leaves, used for generations by Ancient Europeans to soothe dry, flaking skin. Unlike other medicated shampoos that leave your hair flat and sticky, Ava puhi moni? Anti-Dandruff Shampoo contains the extract from the bulb-like flower of the Polynesian ava puhi plant to leave your hair soft and silky. Finally, an anti-dandruff shampoo you can enjoy every day.

While your shampooing and still have the dandruff shampoo in your hair, comb your scalp with a fine tooth comb. Then rinse.
