I know it doesn't say that in the Bible but isn't there scripture that indicates God will take care of those who take care of themselves?

yes it says something like "help thyself and the lord shall help you" (I am trying to translate it from spanish to english), but I think he takes care of us, even if we don't take care of ourselves. He is like our father, who loves his children, so he even can take more care of the "bad" ones, because they are the one that need help the most, and he wants the best for us.

Actually it's just the opposite. God takes care of those who admit that they can't take care of themselves. People who think that they can take care of themselves and don't need God to help them are on the broad way to hell.

God wants you to lean and complely trust on Him. InProverbs 16:3 it says"Commit thy works unto the LORD and thy thoughts shall be established." This means that if the thing that you do are done with a pure heart then your thoughts will be established in God. So in a way yes God does help those that help themselves

No. God will take care of everybody. He takes care of those who will not be able to take care of themelves too.

That is a old old saying, not from the Bible.

My dad used to say that, but like so much made up scripture. I haven't a clue where it came from. We are to take our burdens to the Lord in all things.

With his help all things are possible, without it, there is only hell.

No. In fact, God helps precisely those who cannot help themselves.

What it does say is that we have to have faith. Faith is not a feeling, and it's not simple belief. Faith is action. Faith is doing what God says even when we can't see how it will work. It is trusting Him with the results of our obedience.

God asks us to trust and obey Him. He never asks us to go it alone.

God does expect you to put forth effort. By the sweat of your brow you bring froth the Harvest. He also expects you to help others. But, no one lives by bread alone, But by every word out of the mouth of God. Keep your eye on Jesus.

Most Christians know this saying...what it means is that you don't just pray , sit and wait. God wants us to be proactive....and act according to His word....He wants us to be resourceful, because He laid it all out for us long time ago...how to do things....etc.

I think it means that He has given us certain gifts and talents and He expects us to use them. He expects us to work on our problems, while we turn to Him for help and advice. He doesn't want us to throw up our hands and do nothing - leaving it to God.
Like, if you fell into the swiming pool, He expects you to swim, not only pray for His help while you sink.
