I think it's basic courtesy that you need to understand. You think it's ok, because both of you are enjoying. But others are not thinking of it that way.
And you 2 even did that in a food court?! People are eating, not making out.
It's ok to kiss lightly on the lips or cheek, but kissing passionately is quite unacceptable already. Because you know what that leads to... groping, rubbing or things like that.
If you really want to make out, do it behind closed doors. Or at least some place where people won't feel offended.

You got dirty looks because private things ought to be kept private. One expects to see animals in heat mating in public view, not humans with some sense of personal dignity. Next time you feel the need to get physical beyond hand holding and a few kisses- get a room, as the old joke suggests.

In todays society, it is permissible to kiss or hug in public, however-when you start to play 'ROAMING HANDS" you got a serious problem, then some fool could have you arrested for inappropriate behavior, especially in a mall! Again this debate goes on depending what age bracket your in-younger groups, most anything goes, in older mature cliche, it is only partially accepted, in the older generation it is disgusting and unacceptable in public. You want to play, play behind closed doors or somewhere their are no older people around.

There's a time and a place for everything but at a food court in a mall ain't the time nor the place! Affection in public is fine but anything more is really rude.

well, it all depends on what exactly happens. a little smooch once in a while and for a couple seconds is ok. but if ur actually making out and with rubbing and boob grabbing,.....yeah. that's the kind of stuff that should be done when ur alone, not in public. and especially if ur with someone other than ur "partner" or the person ur doing it with.

well, most people don't care if you have a little bit of a makeout in public, but you have to be tentative. No one wants to see his or her tongue being shoved in the others mouth. That is only apealing to you because you are the one attracted to each other. Although, boob grabing in public is way too much. The only people that want to see that are pervs and horny teens.

well yeah! if ur at a food court and grabbin and rubbin up on eachother. little kids go there, they don't need to see that. sure it may not have ben that bad, but seriously, a little courtesy, i don't wanna sound mean or nuffin, so don't take it da wrong way. but a lotta peopledon't like seeing that in ordinarly life, especially if thier single, cuz then it just makes em mad that they can't have that. and then older people thnk it's very disrespectful. so yeah

I think making out in public is okay but you should leave the rest of what you were doing behind closed doors..everyone does not need to see that.

Light kissing in public is fine, but completely making out & grabbing/groping is REALLY rude-- and hate to tell you, it looks really immature.
