I have started potty training my son. He is 12 months (1year), We started around 9 months old. We have not been constiant at all and he is perfectly happy to potty in the toilet or in his diaper. He gets happy and excited (clapping and smiling) when he pees in the potty as we prase him for it and he likes the attention. How do I make the switch to no more diapers? I know consistancy is the key, and we try putting him in undies and asking him when he has to go and using the same words over and over for it. I also always put him on the potty chair when i have to go (I'm 17 weeks preggo so I go all the time) and he usually pees. If he dosnt have to go he will get off the chair. Also how do I get him to POOP in the potty? We have major problems with pooping.

I know we can do this my niece and nephew were pottytrained before a year old and so was I.

you need to keep at it. take the diaper away in the day time except at sleep time and tell him he is a big boy and put him in underwear you will have a lot of accidents but he will get tried of changing him self send him to the washroom every 20 mins till he get use to it then less and less and let him start to ask that is what we do at the daycares

Number 1: DON'T RUSH HIM.

It is truly in my opinion, people who suffer from the fetish of "golden showers" (being urinated on during sex) or "fudge massages" (being deficated -pooped- on during sex), had poor potty training.

Number 2: He's showing signs of getting used to using it to pee. Keep praising him for this; meanwhile encourage him to poop by making sure he is near the potty after he eats a good meal.

Watch his facial and body expressions after he eats and has to potty. These will often tell what his body is doing (or about to do-do).

Just give it time...it will all come out in the end. (I know, yet another awful "potty joke"). GOOD LUCK!

Just remember that different kids do things at different ages...but I must say, how ambitious of you to do this!! Just keep him consistent, keep rewarding him when he goes number 1, make him know that you are EXTRA proud of him when he goes number 2 in the potty. Good luck!
