I think it's fabulous! It's what we're doing for my daughter's wedding.
Do keep in mind that something this formal should probably be an evening event.
Also, try to remember that some of your guests may show up in other colors, which will pull attention their way, at least visually.

I thought of doing this for my wedding but was advised against it by my wedding planner. The black and white turns it into a sombre affair. A wedding is something festive and full of celebration and the colours should match the mood. Black and white would make it too serious.
Congratulations!

Black/White is fun!!
It's easy to do, and SO romantic!! Oo think of the engagement pictures--black and white pictures. Oh classic! I'm getting excited and it's not even my wedding!
You could play a black and white movie (before 1950) movie or make your own of your fiance and yourself as little kids and turn all the pictures into black and white.
OH the cake could be chocolate with white frosting with minimal coloring.
OH! You could wear a black pearl necklace (if you wanted).
SO classic!!

Gorgeous and elegant, but use a strong color as accent, such as a red, burgundy or even purple.

It's sound very formal, but workable. You have to realized that your guest may have to spend more money just to get an attire that they might not wear again, plus they still have to get you a gift.

I personally think it's dulll and boring. Weddings are celebrations, and should be full of colour and fun!
