Something she did research on that I like. Like some ingredients she knows I enjoy. Or even a dish she knows I lover. Somethig that she took the time to not only figure out what I like but took the effort to prepare for me. If it was horrible, that would not affect my feelings towards her. It would only make me smile more b/c of the person she is for doing it (especially if she doesn't cook then big big koodos)

The dish wouldn't matter as long as you got the wine right. A creamy Lasagne with a good bottle of Rioja would really impress me!

Thick, baked pork chops, thick brown gravy, French-cut green beans, cottage cheese, apple sauce, French bread and butter... Candles would be a nice touch, too...
