There are MANY reasons they are telling you that.
First, puppies get bored and therefore very destructive FAST!!!
Second, day care will "socialize" the puppie making it a better pet.
Third, being a puppy, it could become very sick very FAST for a variety of reasons...not the least of which is reason number one: eating something it should NOT!
If you can't be around to raise a puppy or kitten then get an aquarium or some other low maintenance pet!!!!!! Both you AND the canine or feline WILL be MUCH better off!
And one response asked if you would leave your kid home alone. EXTREMELY GOOD POINT!!!!!

Ya well, that is an adoption place for you! Coming home at noon should be fine. I would get a puppy from a place that wants to find homes for their puppies instead of put stupid restrictions on the new owners.
I personally would NEVER put my dogs in daycare. I am sure there must be some good ones...somewhere, not here. I helped set up one of my 2 local ones, and know someone who worked at the other. I have NEVER seen such a total lack of basic dog knowledge in an animal based business. I could go on and on about some of the terrible decisions/rules that were dangerous to dogs and employees. TRULY AWFUL! There is NO WAY I would ever leave my dogs in the care of the clueless employees at either. I have heard this from others in different areas, although I am sure there must be some good ones.

Why not ask this particular group why they feel this is the best option for their puppies? Even if you choose to go someplace without this requirement (which is always an option), you might want to find out why they are suggesting this incase it could help you in the future. It could be anything from concern about the puppy getting enough exercise or being crated that long at a young age to that particular breed being prone to developing separation anxiety.
The latter happened to an adult dog my sister adopted, as the breed is prone to developing separation anxiety and cannot even be alone during her work schedule and really did well at doggie daycare. I have also seen this work out great for energetic dogs, so you might find out their logic of requiring this makes sense.

You don't have to do anything. But to get your pet comfortably acquainted with other pets "yes" you need puppy daycare. Your pet will interact with other pets, small ones, large ones, males and females. If you don't your pet will always either try to be alpha dog or wet itself when it comes into contact with other pets at the dog park, when friends bring their pets over, or "heaven forbid" if they escape. If you live in an apartment, your pet will want to be active during the day, just like you are and will not understand that you had a hard day and perhaps would like to sit quietly. At the daycare he will run, play, and meet friends all under the supervision of a qualified vet tech, kennel tech or trainer. Of course, you will need to visit these daycares before you just drop off your baby for the first time. There are places out there that only pretend to be a daycare and simply "board" your pet for the day. There are many nice places to look at, and many of them are on line.

No you don't have to send him or her to daycare. You can if you want of course...but not necessary. Just come home from lunch, let the puppy go potty, give it lots of love and put it back in it's crate/cage/or kennel.
If you can not, make sure someone can do it for you while you're at work.
Good Luck!
What kind of puppy are you going to get?

Daycare???? What will they think of next???? Get a crate until the dog is trained enough to be left alone in your house. No dam daycare will ever satify your pooch. More then anything they just want to be around you and when your not home they mostly sleep. Plus if doggy day care is anything like child day care who know what they will pick up at the place.

No,just make sure the puppy has water, food, and you have those puppy pads down. Put the puppy in the kitchen with a fence up and have somebody check on it.
Just ignore them.

yes, well not really. If you are an at home person you don't really have to but if you are going to be gone for hours at a time it would be best to take your puppy to day care.

Go to another rescue, shelter, a breeder, etc where they do not make this a requirement. This is extreme to me as a requirement for adoption. Most people cannot afford the money for doggy day care.

no, you don't need to send it anywhere. a stop at home during lunch to give it some attention and a chance to get out is plenty sufficient.
