Stress can definitely be a factor in weight gain. You could try adding some stress reducers in your activites like meditation or yoga or just breathing/relaxation. One of the reasons I think it's hardest to lose weight is that you do have to be hungry. Not like starving yourself hungry...but the feeling in your belly that you translate as "hunger! NEED TO EAT!" must be reframed into "not dire need. loosing weight. that's good" if you can learn to enjoy that feeling and see it as a good feeling, rather than a feeling to get rid of by eating food, you will be much more successful. The same with exercising. You need to be able to enjoy it, rather than feel like you are torturing yourself for beauty, or some other harmful attitude.
The only diet that works: eat fewer calories than usual AND burn more calories than usual

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Try not to stress about your weight. You will lose in due time if you eat nutritiously.
Try eating at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits per day. You should eat breakfast so that you aren't too hungry when lunch comes around. Try oatmeal for breakfast or possibly Special K cereal with skim milk with a few banana or strawberry slices. If you want a sweetener, use Splenda. I'm not familiar with Luna bars or their ingredients. If it is a diet product, it is probably ok.
Drink half your body weight in ounces of water. For example, if you weigh 120 pounds, drink 60 ounces of water per day. This will help by giving you the full feeling, plus cleanses your body and keeps it hydrated.
I'm dieting too. I wish you all the best with yours.

Stress can most definitely affect weight. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and a Luna bar is definitely better than nothing. Try adding soy products to your diet you will be amazed by the difference it makes I was.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. Honestly 'weight' is easy to loose all you have to do is starve yourself and dehydrate yourself. Wrestlers and fighters do it all the time.
You DO NOT want to just loose 'weight' you want to lose FAT. And burning fat is a whole different animal than losing weight.
This will sound strange but your probably NOT eating enough. If you eat too little your body will go into storage mode and you will burn muscle and store fat.
Do not do as one of the answers above states and only eat fruit for breakfast. You should have 5 complete meals a day. Each of these meals should have some sort of animal protein (or beans) good complex carbs (greens, wheat, potatoes-yes i said potatoes) and some good healthy fats (olive oil, nuts, etc...)
You first need to find out your normal calorie intake for your size, age, and height. Then you eat 20% less than that normal benchmark. and split those calories into the 5 meals (every 3-4 hours).
I hope this helps, its a real rough recipe to fix your metabolism but you can get allot more at my website.

The best investment you can make in your weight loss is to become educated. Research what you eat and learn to read nutrition labels - calories, carbs, sugar, fat, etc. Enduring weight loss requires a lifestyle change, not a fad diet, and you need to understand what it is you're putting into your body. Keep a log of what you're eating and how many calories are in it. Try www.fitday.com for an easy, free way to do this. Once you are conscious of your eating habits, you can work on changing them.
And of course, EXERCISE!

There are two things I suggest
.
1) look at eating for pleasure as an addiction, like drinking. You need to work on your addiction to eating for pleasure
2) Aim for at least an hour of exercise a day. I try to do 15 min in the morn, 15 min after lunch and a half an hour after dinner. And make sure it is something fun like rollerblading , virtual kickboxing
or dance dance revolution.

Yes....grab something...even one banana is good enough.
Our body has toxins that makes losing fat harder. Consider doing a cleansing first....google : Isagenix.com. I lost 10 lbs the first week...and the rest came off easily.
