Your rooms don't have to be the same decor but should "flow". By this I mean, stick with some of the same basic colors. Obviously, there will be alot of green in your bedroom, so you need to continue that into the bathroom, but perhaps accents with different shades. If the room is completely closed off from the bedroom then this won't be necessary, but if you can see it from the bedroom you want it to look well together by blending colors and shades.

Maybe you could go more neutral and do the accessories in the palm trees. You can mix palm trees with beach. Don't just buy the everything that is ready made. Use your imagination and be unique. I would probably go with the weathered colors of the beach. They look like they were once bright but have been wind blown and had water damage. It is a great beach look!Use natural raffia or grass rugs also. You will have an easier time changing styles if you stick to having more neutral for the flooring, walls, and furniture and then adding the colors and style with pics, appropriate natural plants or flowers, pillows, throws, etc. I do think it is best to do the bath and bedroom in the same since it is a suite and not separated by a hallway.Have a great time decorating and enjoy your new home!

Since you are wanting to do a theme in your bedroom with palmtrees I would suggest only carry thru with the colors in the bathroom, such as you will probably be using greens and khakis in color and I would keep the decorating items to a minimal not to cluster it up. Bring out your colors with towels and wastebasket, tissue holder, hamper in wicker etc. I just wouldn't do two rooms so closely in the same theme, Just feed off of the bedroom with the colors. Keep it simple.

Sounds like a great idea. my bedroom is cream with green trim in adjoining bath i did green wall with white trim. looks very rich.
You could go along that route. The only thing i would have mural done rather than pic over bath. Moisture and pics do not get along good.

If they are 2 separate rooms.... you can do them differently. If they are opened they should be the same.
