Yes, my friend Melissa. Emo is not goth, whoever tells you that is ignorant. I would know, she is emo and I am punk/goth. Emo people don't even dress in all black. Also not all Emos cut them selves, don't let people tell you otherwise when they have little or no experience with the Emo sub-culture.

Actually I know alot and most of my friends are some combo of the two.
Renee....Goth kids and EMO kids are not the same thing.
JellyBean....EMO kids aren't "cutters" smartass.
Cassie...Christians actually do have emotions. Dont forget Jesus sweating blood because He was so worried and His mother weeping for Him. Who is your role model???

People people people....emo stands for emotional. Cant Christians have emotions or express their emotions? Cant I listen to a sad love song without cutting my wrist? Jeez EMO music is just all sad and stuff cuz their girlfriends dumped them or w/e but they didnt kill themselves. Maybe some emo kids have cut themselves but I'm also sure that tons of people who cut themselves are not anything like an emo kid at all.
I also like hardcore screaming in your face music with enough guitar riffs and double bass to make your ears bleed. OMG some of them are Christian bands!!!!! NO!!!!! lol

no, they dont just sit and cry all the time. emos dont become emo because they want to, the become emo because **** happens to them. if you actually think that they just sit and cry all the time, well you obviously just believe all of the stereotypes that only stupid people believe. and yeah... im an emo, and i dont appreciate your stupid comments. and also, the christians are just the same as the others, so why is this question even relevant??????????????? ehh??

If your definition of "emo" is something like unhappy with life, then no. A true Christian kid wouldn't be unhappy with their life, because they would know that they have God to go to. They don't need to rely on the resources of this world. Some Christian kids might try to act emo to be "cool", but I believe that they are faking one or the other. Either they are not really Christian, or not really emo.

I don't think you can be Christian and emo at the same time. An Emo hurts themself puposely. A christian would pray to God or talk to their family.(Remember there is a difference between emos and goths. Goths don't hurt themselves but emos do.) So unless its a child who is half, like for example, sometimes he would pray,talk,etc. and the other times he would lose faith and. hurt himself. It couid be the other way around,too. A child could start believing in God, but still hurt themselves. So in conclusion,
I think there can not be Christian/Emo kids.
