This is prob a stupid question just a thought that I ask maybe they do pay

That is not a stupid question and deserves a proper answer.
All vehicles here in the u.k that use our roads are required by law to pay road tax unless they come under certain exemption categories.
Some emergency vehicles are in fact taxed under their respective county Multi Road Tax policies (similar to insurance), this is where the local council pay group tax,so in effect these vehicles are really taxed although they may not be actually showing tax discs on windscreens.

The emergency services don't pay the road tax...taxpayers do. Most emergency services companies depend on grants and the cost of transports to maintain their equipment, trucks, and to pay their employees. The companies do pay taxes as well as anyone else does, but most of the taxes that go to pay for the roads are taxes out of your and the emergency service employees paychecks from state and federal taxes.

If they do it would be a little stupid really. Anything paid out for the emergency services come from government money. So what would be the point of paying of governement money to put it back in their pocket?

Because they are Emergency Service vehicles... paid for by the tax payer and employed by the Crown.

Police vehicles in Scotland do display tax discs.
