Because you have a conscience, and also the devil wants you to believe that you are a bad Christian. Since he can't have your soul, he will try to have your walk, if you let him have a foothold.

Just acknowledge the grace of God, and the forgiveness that is properly yours when you confess your sin, and walk in it!

You're right, God forgives you every time you ask for His forgiveness. The reason you still feel bad afterwards is because of the human emotion: guilt. It's good to understand that what you did was wrong and to do your best to live better in the future, but God doesn't want us to be held back by guilt. Do you know where guilt comes from? It's from satan. He wants us to be held back, reminding us of our sin so that we can't move on in the freedom God has given us through salvation. You don't have to let satan control you like that. God has forgiven you, and you can move forward in your life with confidence, knowing that you are totally right in God's eyes! Blessings!

Rebeka,

I struggle with the same thing.

Sin hurts God and what you are experiencing is the conviction of the Holy Spirit if you were not sad wen you done wrong you would not be genuine but a fake. My pastor who died and is in heaven said these powerful words if you say you re a Christan and you do not repent than you are phony.

It is a daily fight to do right when you find yourself falling into sin
find people who will pray for you, write down and memorize Bible verses that address your sin. Find someone to hold you accountable like Josh Harris said in one of his books don't find someone you are comfortable with find someone who will make you uncomfortable with your sin.

You are also human and will never be perfect, but the fact you feel bad after you sin means you are growing in God.

And realize all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, Romans 6:1-6, I am proud of you for writing this post.

Because your conscience convicts you, you need to feel remorse in order to repent and turn away. You need to accept God's forgiveness and forgive yourself and ask God to give you strength to do what is right. It is a life long process of sanctification. Bless you as you grow in the Lord!

It's guilt, but you are forgiven, just learn to forgive yourself and try not to do the things you are asking forgiveness for. God Bless

Fortunately, you have a conscience. Not everyone pays attention to their's. So it's you knowing you done wrong, feeling remorse or shame.
Fortunately also, if you believe in Jesus you have grace. Grace doesn't mean you didn't make a mistake - it means God understands and forgives you.

You know in your heart what you did was wrong. You not only need for him to forgive you, you need to forgive yourself. If you pray for him to help you forgive yourself, you will not feel bad afterwards.

Because if the slate was wiped clean and all the feeling of pain and resentment were not there then you would never learn from those mistakes and it also makes you appreciate the good decisions that you do make. Live happy and with your eyes open.

The awareness of good is non-existant without the bad.

That's the Holy spirit convicting your heart. That's how we learn from our mistakes. Just remember that God forgave you and you need to forgive yourself now.
God bless!
