After a question removed by the boyos of Yahoo how about a Wikipedia quote "United States - The US Army 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D (A)), commonly, but mistakenly referred to as Delta Force, was based on the SAS. Its founder, "Chargin'" Charlie Beckwith, having served on exchange with the SAS in the early 1960s, caught the "SAS bug" and, recognising a void in the US Army, devoted a large part of the remainder of his career to the raising and establishment of a US Special Forces unit modelled on the SAS. Operational Detachment-Delta is a late addition to the Special Forces, whose main purpose is to lead locally recruited troops in a manner pioneered by the Jedburghs teams of WW2, a joint British-American effort which worked with the French, Dutch and Belgian resistance." So you woosey Yanks who complained last time---eat my dirt. The UK - SAS is best. US Delta - phaaw, USMC - get out of her you lady boys.

Personally I think the SAS are the best but I would because I'm a Brit. But then you would think that the Delta are if your a Yank so it becomes a case of who can piss higher and further. Rather than looking at the way they conduct them self's when on Ops.
The general rule of thumb when on an operational mission is the Brits look for a reason not to shoot were as the Yanks look for a reason to shoot, even if it means that they have a bit of Blue on Blue, the retarded trigger happy technology dependant Muppet's.

Q. whats the difference between an Iraqi soldier and a Brit soldier ?

A. there isn't if your an American soldier ! !

As for the government not trusting us as a nation with guns, they do it just that we have a much better respect for the law and so, you will see that our police will patrol our cities and towns without guns, why ?
Perhaps its because we are a nation of hard cases who would rather have a good old fashioned fist fight to see who is the best and the looser buys the drinks, rather than pick up a gun and shoot someone in the back when they're not looking - like the p*ssies that they are. ! ! !

no person right here could desire to in all probability no this simply by fact i'm very just about a hundred% specific no person right here has ever seen or have been in Delta or the SAS, so as that they could no longer be attentive to for specific. The SAS has been around longer than Delta. and actual, Delta rigidity replaced into based of the SAS, Charlie Beckwith a US Officer in the time of vietnam conflict replaced into on an officer replace application with uk, and served with the SAS, whilst he back to the US, he needed to create a unit comparable to the SAS, and created Delta. so as that they from a civilians perspective they are very very comparable.

SAS for me is the best in terms of combat expertise gain after so many exposure to combats, but the MOSSAD intel wise second to none, Detachment Delta has not been expose to more than what the Navy SEALs has seen. But the Best in the world are the native Red Skin of America for Ranger tactics, and the Gurkas here in Asia.

I would have to say the SAS, but that is based on a limited knowledge. As far as I am aware the SAS have a slightly better operational record than Delta Force. Also we all know the US like to fight by dropping Laser guided bombs from 36,000ft or firing cruise missiles from a ship 200 miles off shore rather than on the ground with a gun or flying in a tree top level in a Tornado Strike aircraft.

As for the rubbish about our government not trusting us with guns...Doh. Why do you think the US has such a high rate of gun crime? Why do you need guns other than to make you feel like big men. I think the fact that the Rap/gang/gun culture started in the US sums up exactly why you guys shouldn't have them. Grow up.

Get over yourself. SAS and Delta Force are on the same side. And just because Delta Force learned from SAS doesnt mean that the SAS is better. It means the SAS has been around longer.

lets face it, the SAS has been around longer, but the Delta force is a force to be reckoned with. id like to see an airsoft or paintball match between those two (only because in real combat we know they would kill each other until only one man remains from both teams.)
