Trinidad - W 42 (KO's 35) TF 44 - W pct 95% - KO pct 80% - wins over Whitaker, De La Hoya (highly disputed), Mayorya, W Hoppy and F. Vargas - KO'ed by Hopkins - #30 ranked puncher - #51 ranked fighter
Titles at 147, 154 and 160
Hearns - W 61 (KO's 48) TF 67 - W pct 91% - KO pct 72% - wins over Cuevas, Benetiz, Duran and V. Hill - KO'ed by Leonard, Hagler and Barkley (average fighter) - #18 ranked puncher - #67 ranked fighter
His lack of stamina and weak chin are marks against him
Titles at 147, 154, 160, 168 and 175
Much better boxer than given credit for
Trinidad was just good puncher somewhat one-dimensional. Hearns was a great puncher and a good boxer. Hearns connects with that devastating overhand right in the 6th rd and it is over for Trinidad.

Yes Hearns had the old glass jaw, but he had more power than Trinidad and more boxing skills. Hearns had that snapping jab, and a howitzer right. Trinidad is slower than Hearns and that would be the difference, Hearns KO round 9.

Good question and interesting fight. I believe that Hearn's jab is the biggest difference as he scores from long range. Trinidad tries to force the action and scores well but Hearns catches him coming in a lands the knockout punch in the 9th round,

Trinidad is too one dimensional for The Hitman,
Trinidad is all punching power but The Hitman is a good combination of Boxing skills and punching power as shown in his fight with LEonard, he outboxes SUgar Ray untill his Chin Betrayed him in the 14th round.
While Trinidad never shows any exceptional boxing skills as shown in the way he was dominated by De la Hoya and Hopkins.
Hitman 10th round TKO

Hearns.
As brittle as his jaw was - the fury, speed, power and explosiveness that he would bring to the dance would be something that Trinidad never saw before.
Three, maybe four rounds

Hearns, hands down! Better boxer, devastating puncher. He'd pick Tito apart.
