it has absolutly nothing to do with spiritualism
in the past perhaps it was dabbled with by mediums
but it is not used in modern day spiritualism
infact by UK laws a medium should not use any tool for communicating with spirit , thus enabling people to be more possitive of how and where the information is coming from
i would be happy to help if you have any general questions about spiritualism but i will leave a link below

i tried to get hold of you by email but it isnt going through so ill post it here and hope you get it

hi Lilna
i had a little think about how you could visually portray spiritualism
and i thought .. what about spirit photography
http://www.photographymuseum.com/seance.html
this is a wonderful link to some of the best spirit caught on film
there are so many ways you can portray spirit visually
some people draw spirit as another medium speaks with the same spirit
this is generally called psychic art or spirit art
there is also alot of aura art but that is going into the psychic side of things rather than spirit .. although we do study the aura also at our workshops
i am unsure if this is what you are looking for
but i will help in any way i can so please feel free to get in touch any time
love pangel xx

I would get a rosary or go to a magick shop (most big cities have them) and get a statue of the goddess or even a crystal for mediation.

Don't waste your money on an Ouija board. They aren't spiritual. When you "play" with one you don't open any doors. What happens is by messing with it you issue an open invite to any nasty "thing" in your local area to come pay you a visit. Some times this can end in one creepy experience, or a permanent house guest who opens your back door every time you shut it or something even worse that will do you serious harm.

A visual effect of spiritualism? I would get a book with pictures of people who believe they have been helped by faith healers. I don't believe in that but belief is a powerful force and that would be a visual effect. Good luck!

Some do use the Ouija board as a tool to help them with spiritualism, but it is used mostly to talk to spirits, and to gather information about past events. Although it is not reliable, many spirits have thee own purposes, and can be very confused. The ones who i believe use the Ouija board the most are inexperienced teenagers. Although I do know a couple of adults who successfully have used them.

We do have a spirit within. And there are other spirits, which
is just a word we use to describe many kinds of life, out there.
We have telepathic and empathic ability. We can know each others thought, feel each others pain.
Ouija boards can be dangerous because they look like a game.
Spirit comminication is not a game. It's serious business.
There are souls who have not passed on properly, it's a matter
of free-will and spiritual self-control. And they are lonely,
and frustrated. And they can create an "obsession". Where
they hang around someone, and can drive them CUCKOO!
We all have guardians who we hear call our names at times, wanting to assure us of thier presence, or warn us of
danger. Any voice that tells someone to harm themselves or
another, is one of those lost souls trying to get someone to
come and keep them company.
NOT A GAME! OKAY BABY SISTER?

Here is a site that tells about the ouija board. Since the Bible says that it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment, then this means that no one can come back from the dead and communicate with the living.

The Ouija Board is not a recent invention and the board available for purchase today is only a reinvention of a very old psychic tool. In the late 1800’s, Spiritualism became a popular trend. People were attending séances to speak to old loved ones and “mediums” were there to collect the money of grieving mourners. When parlor tricks such as knocking on or tipping tables became old hat, a new version of communicating with the dead came about.

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so (Deut. 18:10-14).

etc..

I burnt the ones I had collected. I have no need of them.. nor what they represent. As with anything, there is always some 'energy' left behind.. even in antiques.
I no longer play on the devils side..

I dopubt it, the thing was only invented in the latter 19th Century. Hell, the name itself is OUI-JA, a bastardised version of Oui-Jah, French and German for Yes.

I forget the history, but i remember hearing that

Primarily it's associated with not having the sense to spend that money on a case of beer instead.
