Official Decision and Announcement of the High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia...
Just a short time ago, Fatwa-Online was informed of the official decision and announcement of the High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia that since the moon of Ramadhaan was sighted this evening, here in Saudi Arabia, we have completed twenty nine (29) days of Sha'baan (1427 A.H.), in accordance with the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam):
((Fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you, then complete thirty days of Sha'baan. And break your fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you then fast thirty days)), [transmitted by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim].
Subsequently, we shall be starting our Taraaweeh prayers tonight (Friday 22 September 2006) after the 'Ishaa. prayer, in preparation for the first fast of Ramadhaan on Saturday 23 September 2006, inshaa.-Allaah.

Assalamu Alaikum
and
RAMADAN MUBARAK
The month of Allah has come with His mercies and blessings. This is the month that is the best of all months in the eyes of Allah. Its days are the best of days, its nights are the best of nights, its hours are the best of hours. This is a month in which you have been invited by Him. You have been given the opportunity in this month to receive the honors from Allah, the Merciful.
In this month if you fast as ordained by Allah, every breath you take has the reward of Tasbeeh, and your sleep has the reward of worship. Your good deeds, feeding the hungry or give to the needy is an act of great reward and the month of prayers are rewarded more than usual. Your duas are accepted.
MAY ALMIGHTY ALLAH (swa) REWARD YOU MOST ABUNDANTLY.
