i had a slightly different situation, the night my father died my mum told us about our half sister! total mind-blowing day!!! we invited her to funeral and asked to meet her as it wasn't her fault anything that had happened in the past, happened between the 'adults' we just got caught up in the after math for 30 years!. its been a year and i have quite a good relationship with her & her family. However my sister wont have anything to do with her, but accepts that she is part of my & my brothers life. it was a positive thing that we did when we contacted her, i would urge others to go ahead you dont know what you may find, but do go in with your eyes open, be aware they may not want to know you! they were obviously looking for someone if they were on the site, maybe they know of you but are just begining to look. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I would want to. Is there a consideration in your mind that gives you pause? Perhaps you could talk it over with other family members first if you're worried on a point about this.
Good luck!

Definately. family is important, get to know her, takes things easy at first, it will be a shock to her to find out about you. If your dad has not told her about you, thats his problem, not yours, not your sisters. Go for it, what have you to lose.

Yeah, you really should! Find out all you can about her and communicate with her. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you and wouldn't mind going out for a coffee or something with you.

Yes contact her but make it non-threatening. Give her the opportunity to decline meeting you, and don't be pushy. More than likely she'll want to meet

Absolutely, but write or e-mail here first and ask if you can call her and hopefully you can visit her too. Good luck to you and best wishes.
