No!!! Sorry I don't think we should. That is Gods job and we should be happy with what we are given.

ok....about, one person listed sources for their answer. Others just used God because that seems to be the answer to everything. Would ANYONE care to elaborate on any reason BESIDES God why its a bad idea. Anyone at all? Care to actually use intelligent argument? No? Oh, right, the question.
Its the age old argument that no one wants to hear. You know, the one that runs through the issues of abortion, same sex marriages, cloning (wiiiitchcraaaaaft!!!!), stem cell research, and every other little scientific advancement that religions which are stuck in a dusty old petrified point of view poo-poo upon. I'm not saying that this concept is correct, but I refuse, absolutely refuuuse, to use god because I dont have any good reasons to argue.
My issue would be with population growth, and how if this technique was imployed in the masses, affordable enough for middle class families, would the human race suffer due to an unnatural growth between male and female people? For example, if there was an unnatural spurt in female births due to popularity of little girls, could this be a detriment to the growth of the human race (not that it needs to continue growing, but you get the idea) ? I would prefer responses to this question to not include the word "god" "almighty" or "marriage between two men is unholy! Burn the gays!" Not that I think religion is bad, but using God as your only defense for complex issues doesn't really show an intelligent response. Ok, go.

Yes parents have been able to try for a certain gender, especially if they carry genetic defect that would affect only a certain sex. It has been going on as long as infertilty specialists have been practicing and since the development of ultrasound selective abortion has gone on. Micro sort is one of the newest techniques, we used Dr Jonas method for a girl after having 3 boys and a couple miscarriages. Worked great. The biggest con would be finding out it didn't work and dealing with the outcome of that.

WHy not?
The kid will just change looks to what they want when they get older through plastic surgery. This seems to be a big issue now. Fifty years down the road though people will be okay with the idea the how people look can change due to advances in medicine. Nothing wrong with that.

Whatever happened to God's will? We are all His children and He is the only one who should decide what we get. I think science is going way too far with all of this crap!!! If you want to "custom build" your baby, go buy a doll!!!
Otherwise, let nature take it's course and be happy with what you get.

I wish that I could choose gender, but other than that, anything goes. It is God's will what your baby is like.
