I was baptized as a teenager. Then I stopped being a Christian and bashed Christians. I became a Christian again last night. Do I need to get re-baptized?

That should be your choice.

It is not required, however some people choose to be rebaptized to show publicly what has transpired in their heart.

Baptism - by immersion - is Biblical. The one Baptism is the Baptism by the Holy Spirit. The public procalmation of the wonderful change God has brought about in your life can never be wrong.

If you were an honest Christian at the time of your baptism, then no, not necessarily. I was baptized at the age of 9 or 10. However, at that age, who says no when your Christian parents ask if you would like to get baptized? I think that I had a rough understanding of what was going on, and, for all I know, I probably did have a valid salvation. However, for the next few years, I did go through some tough times morally, and, later, when I began to actually take my relationship with Christ Jesus seriously, I was baptized again. Did I have to be to get to heaven? I don't think so. One baptism is all that's asked for. I actually was watching my sister's baptism and made that decision on the spot, although I had been wondering about my previous baptism for some time. Go and talk to a parent or pastor about it. I hope this helps, God bless!

I think that getting baptized again would be a good idea in your case. In normal situations, you don't need to get baptized every so often, it's a one time event that signifies dying to your old self and being reborn in Jesus. But since you had falled away from God for a while and are coming back, I think it would be a good thing for you to do. Try to stay on the bandwagon this time, buddy! Blessings

Once baptized always baptized, so long as water was poured over your head, or you were immersed, you were baptized in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit, and you were baptized into a group that is truly Christian.

Being baptized again shows a lack of faith. Don't do it. Just repent and go on.

That my dear is between you and the good Lord above. If it makes you feel better, then by all means. I would fair to guess that once you explain the situation to your clergyman, he will urge you toward that goal. But how on Earth did you become a Christian again "overnight", it's not like a switch or something you can turn on and off. You must have put some time thought, and energy into this decision. Which I'm sure was counseled by clergy already and therefore would have probably answered your question. Welcome Back!!

No, though MANY people do. The scriptures tell us to be baptized to become a Christian, but only to confess and pray for forgiveness after that. You just left for a while but repented while you still could. Speak with your minister, but scripturally, there is only one "Christian baprism" and it does not NEED to be repeated.

Baptism is a public sign that you have now put your faith in Christ and are taking an open stand for Him.

It also is a sign that Jesus has now washed away all your sins. Think of it: You have been cleansed of every sin you've ever committed, because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you! You aren't saved because of anything you have done; you are saved only because you have put your faith and trust in Christ and what He has already done for you. The Bible says Christ "saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit" (Titus 3:5).
If you want to get baptized again, you can, though it is not necessary. I was also a prodigal son (see Luke 15). It is important to note that the moment you trusted the Lord Jesus as your Savior you were saved forever---regardless of what you said or did. Thank God that He has brought you back to Himself. Thank God that He has allowed you to rekindle your love for Him. Pray about whether you should be baptized again. It falls in what I call the permissive will of God. God bless you. "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand" (John 10:27-28)

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39)

No, you do not have to get baptized if you understood what you were doing when you got baptized last time.

Find a good church, and get involved with a small group. If you do not like any home group, start one yourself.

no you needn't be re-baptized - you were always a christian - you just stopped behaving like one - happens to the best of us. in Ephesians is says that once trained, even when they stray they will come back.
I'm thankful you found your way home before it was too late. Your baptism was the beginning and this, this is your personal "resurrection" - welcome back sister!
God bless you!

Once saved....always saved.

If you accepted Christ as your personal Savior, as a teen-ager..you can't be re-saved.....you may "back slide" and cease to live in a Christian manner, but you salvation is secure...Jesus died so that we may have life...and have it more abunduntly.

When you sin...you ask God/Jesus to forgive you...because you are "his" child.

What you did last night...or should have done...was "re-dedicate" your life to Christ....no need to be re-baptized.

I hope you have some good, caring Christians..that will be there for you, to help you grow as a Christian.
Pray and study God's word....May God bless and keep you....remember...Christians are not perfect...just forgiven.
