Quoted from the hate mail sent to the FSM website:
Hi,
I seriously can’t wait to get into heaven! I can’t wait until I see you non-believers try to get in. I will seriously be laughing my *** off.
I can’t wait to be in heaven, watch you pitiful non-believers try to get in and watch Mary, the mother of Jesus, kick your asses all around the clouds. That will be my most awesome day.

I see this all too often by people who think that they and their friends are "Christian -- with a Capital C" and they pound to distraction those of other more main stream Christianity as not being Christian.
The one I saw today in yahoo answers was this odd but probably sincere question - the person was worried that .. "Are you sad that Steve Irwin is in hell? He never talked about his faith.?"
I did not see any of this sort of thing until I moved south of the Mason-Dixon line. And of course .. "the times are a-changing"
From my upbringing and my faith, I would NOT classify this person as a Christian.

No. It's not an example of Christian love. Two things, 1. Maybe they are Christian and are just pissed at all the idiotic, rude, and disrespectful things atheists say about God, Jesus and Bible (I can pretty much say this is 100% accurate. I've seen it here on yahoo). 2. Not everyone is going to have the Christian love reaction everytime you blaspheme God. I'll tell you what, you can say that garbage once and that's the end of it for me. I won't try to talk to you or convince you of anything. You have already made your decision, and I respect that. But if you keep talking that garbage, I'll tell you to stop, but as a human being I'm gonna get angry. Don't expect Christians not to get angry or lose any human characteristics. Christians like everyone are flawed people who have recognized they need God. So, some of the most flawed people in life you will meet will be Christians. But there are also some great Christians out there. I doubt this guy, Brian Smith, will be laughing his assoff in heaven at the sinners burning in hell. I doubt anyone will. But God's justice is fair and righteous, whether you believe in him or not.
As for these other people's comments about whether this guy is a Christian or not, I suggest to them "It is the Lord's to judge man." And "the measure to which you judge, will be the measure to which you are judged." Basically, don't judge people. It's not your place to judge, that's God's job.

This person isnt a christian, and daily I have to defend my faith on behalf of those who throw the name "christian" around like some fashion brand name. It sickens me that one who claims to be a follower of Christ (that is what a christian is) does everything that is contrary to what He lived on a daily basis. Mr Smith will be judge by Christ when that comes, with a measure several times over that which he used to judge others here on earth. Mary will not be kicking anyone around in heaven, and the poor soul who thinks they'll be up there laughing and watching it all is in a darker place than those who dont claim faith in Christ.

And Muslim terrorists believe they need to fight to take over the USA. The wedge is already between people so it should be pretty easy wouldn't you think? In the USA you have a religion fighting another and atheists fighting them and agnostics disagreeing with all. Yep we shall be wearing ha-bibs and towels on our heads before we know it and paying head tax or getting beheaded when we disagree. Shameful a so called civilized society has to act like this.

No, of course it isn't. Does it sound like something Jesus would say?? No. That's one of the biggest problems I see in some Christians. I'm a Christian and there are some Christians out there who totally misunderstand Jesus' love and make it sound like God will hate you and smile when you burn in hell. I KNOW that's not true! As Christians we should be spreading God's love. After all, God IS love. :-)

Most definately not! This person assumes he will get to heaven. I would just like to refer them and others to Matthew 7:21-23. That verse has Jesus telling his followers:
Many shall say, 'Lord, Lord,' but shall not enter the kingdom of heaven unless he does the will of my Father in heaven.

The person who wrote that sounds like they had a hard life. If I were to read the words, my guess would be that this person is not a true Christian. I pray for them that they see the err of their ways. It is not up to us as Christians to criticize or judge ANYONE. That is God's job alone.

That is terrible and in no way an example of Christian love. I think this person is going to be very surprised on judgement day.

Obviously it is hate mail, and anyone with half a brain can see the person is sick.
But because this person employs Catholic overtones, its a convenient flag to wave because it makes Catholics look like hypocrits. At least that is your plan...isn't that right, nhbariton?
This email is not from a Catholic and if it is, he is out on a day pass. I say this is your writing, nhbariton. Your source is verifiable, its from a web site. But you post no web site, because you don't want anyone to verify it to see who instigated this treachery.
I pray that God will heal you of your prejuduce.
