The kernel's hull is not digestible and tends to retain it's shape and color during digestion.
A before-and-after tasting will confirm that the corn that went in is quite different than the corn that comes out.

The only portion that your body digests of the creamed corn is the creamed part. It does not digest the whole kernel portion because of the outer skin on it. That is why it appears to all come out whole. Sorry kid. :)

How much chewing do you do before you finally swallow? Sorry to tell you this, but corn is hard for the system to digest, you have already seen that.
Try eating it without the skin on the kernel of corn,
---aka---strained baby food:)
Sorry couldn't resists it

Corn one the most useless foods. You're right, well not about the creamed corn, but leaves one apt to think what are the benefits for our nutrition when it stays whole?!

Corn cannot be broken down by our stomach acid or anything else we have. It is really strong in that sense, or we just dont have the stuff to break it down in our stool.
The outside of corn is made of cellulose making it impossible to digest but we eat the inside that is made of starch.

The corn you see is most likely the corn hull not the part inside the kernel. It is tougher, so your stomach does not break it down.

haa, idk but your question made me laugh.
i bet you dont chew every piece of corn in your mouth though.
some must go down un-chewed.
but the question is, how does the acid in your stomach not eat it up?
