I agree with you. It makes no sense at all.

No insult taken but this is why Muslims will never understand because they deny that Jesus is the Eternal Son of God, the second person of the triune nature of God. The Father is eternal so therefore the Son is eternal and the Spirit is eternal and are the one eternal true God. The Son of God offered himself as a sacrifice for the sin of the world so that whosover believes has eternal life.
Hebrews 10:5: Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he (Jesus) saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7: Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8: Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9: Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10: By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11: And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13: From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14: For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
The Old Testament prophets told of God becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.

Sin is a mental creation. It can be easily uncreated by a child. Notions of what is sinful is simply thought creation. Sin (.sin) used to mean
genetic defect or impure blood line during the ancient Sumer culture the blood line was considered sacred and to be kept pure. The tradition was observed even in Noah's time.

Myself, I never believed our Creator even commanded us to
kill His animals. People who BLINDLY push that are TWISTED!
Scripture says, " That without the shedding of blood, there is no
remission of sin." Too often, we forget the Scriptures speak
symbolically of many things.
Blood is a spiritual term that refers to ones PERSONAL
SPIRITUAL POWER. It says in Hebrews, "YOU have not yet
resisted unto blood."
It also says in Hebrews, that Christ died like He did, because
that is how things were done on the Earth. Isaiah in almost
the last chapter talks about how God despised animal
sacrifice. But people justified it, and did it anyway, to get
their jollies. It creates real spiritual power.
Think of all the humans and other creatures of Gods who have died violent, bloody deaths on our world?
All these things created negative spiritual energies that were
slowly closing the doors to the spirit world. The spirit that
lived as Jesus Christ didn't just make a dramatic statement.
He used His personal spiritual power to reopen those doors that
were slowly closing. That is why He volunteered to die the
way He knew He had to.

Sadly it is an understanding in Christian Theology which is out-dated and pre-modern and hinders much of Christianity from fully engaging in the modern world. The penal-substitution model of atonement; that Jesus had to suffer and die for the sins of women and men. When we draw a purely philosophical model out of this we see that it is a notion that is repulsive to our enlightened sensitivities and this may account for why the spread of Christianity is slowing down and even shrinking in the Western economy of thought.
However, there are other ways of thinking through the death of the Christian messiah that are not so barbaric, for example we can see the use of Emmanuel in early Christian Theology which draws attention to the immanent presence of G-d with us. In this model the messiah did not die 'for' anyone but suffered 'with' humanity. This mode of divine solidarity with human suffering is a theological possition that is gaining ground as Christianity re-thinks its interaction with postmodernism. It is also a view that other religions can find much common ground with.

This was the example of the Bible to show how much he loved the ppl he created. Accordingly he loved ppl so much that he gave up his own son. Because we all know that we should love our children the most. But Christ was born for that purpose. He was born to be a sacrifice so why then make him His son? This was to make an emotional appeal. It didn't seem right to me either. I would have thought that God should have been able to be approached directly instead of sending a half human to mediate between us and Him.

Have you ever taken your son or daughter to the doctor? What happens when the doctor has to do something that inflicts pain on your kid in order to get him cured?
Does this mean that you don´t love your kid? NOPE, because you love him, this happens.
You are no insulting anybody, but the sacrifice of Jesus is how God shows his love to the world. I am sending my own son to die for you... for the new pact. I want to save you...

God did not have to send His only Son here,Jesus wanted to come down here so that you can be forgiven if you wanted. He want to be with you after you die, but He gives you a choice.
