I am from Chicago and just got a $186 ticket for going 72 in a 55 in Wisconsin, that's only 17 mph over! I find this ridiculous and was wondering what other states may have as high, or higher fines? This ticket would have only set me back $90 in Illinois!

You'd be looking at $350.00, here in California.

In Kent County, MI (Grand Rapids area) 1-10 over is $105. Your 17 over would have been $115 here. I don't know what part of Michigan the first answerer, King of Babylon, is from, but $280 seems exaggerated.

I got pulled over somewhere in Arkansas for driving 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. The fine for my ticket was $120.
