How does Navy housing work? Will my fiancee be able to live off base? He will be an E-4 after he graduates "A" school. We want to live together before we are married if we can. Will the navy pay our housing expenses off base? What about if he is deployed? I guess I just need info in general about housing.

you may not live in housing if you are not married. he may not be given permission to live off base if he is single, he may be required to live inthe Barracks. Each command sets their own rules as to who may or may not live off base/off the ship while single.

If he is allowed to live off base, he may be able to get BAH at the single rate. however, they do NOT have to grant this.

If you are not married he could get BAQ at the single rate, but that stops when he deploys. If you are married you can apply for base housing, but be ready for a long wait in most areas.
