Closing eyes (or keeping them open) is part of the sneeze reflex. It’s a reflex—meaning we have no conscious control of sneezes. Instead, the primitive part of the brain (called the medulla oblongata and located at the top of the spine) calls the shots. The reflex triggers major muscles of face, throat, and chest to fire out gunk going at 100 mph (150 kph) as fast as a pitcher’s fastball.
Most people tighten the eye muscles, causing them to shut, as they tighten the other muscles involved in a sneeze. But not all do. Some sneeze with their eyes open. Either way, it’s part of the inborn sneeze reflex.

We sneeze at about 70/8s0 mph. Impossible to keep your eyes open. Maybe your eyeball would just pop right out and it's natures way of keeping your eyes in!

we close our eyes when sneezing as a natural reaction to stop our eyes popping out with the force of sneezing which can reach snotty speeds of 100 mph!! Thats the true fact.

No... you can't sneeze with your eyes open because your eyes would pop out.

No, it is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. I am not sure why.

Apparently it`s impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.Don`t know why,but it is a scientific fact.

surely this is all a myth why doesnt someone just hold there eyes open and sneeze? lol haha i aint trying though!! they cant just pop out!!

It is possiable. I do it all the time. 8D Same with licking my elbow, folding a piece of paper equally 15+ times and a few more.
It's all rumors.

People say u can't and u're eye balls will pop out, but I can and I still have intact eye balls!!!
