Mr Google Shut Up. Australia is still part of the Commonwealth. Our specialist forces are the SAS.They have been in existence since WW2 . New Zealand also has the SAS.I cannot speak for other nations that are still within the C'wealth, however I do know that our SAS are currently operating in Iraq and Afghanistan.Personnel are also able to be seconded to each others countries commands for training duties.

The Australians have an SAS regiment.Like many countries that were part of the commonwealth. They established their own SAS units(during WWII).Countries such as New Zealand and Rhodesia. There is even a French unit that was descended from a French SAS unit.Though it is not called SAS any longer, they still wear the "WHO DARES WINS" badge(in metal instead of cloth) on a green beret.

The SAS is confined to the British armed forces only, under the command of the British government. Australia, having its own separate sovereign government and its own military has its own special forces unit.
