seized in the trans. the inspection cover bolts are out and will move a little. Tried to pry with screw driver and tap with hammer

Try using wd40 let set and try a scocket if this does not work maybe so visegrip might work they don't silp as as a wrench would let set for a cuple hour frist afer useing the wd40

The 53 Ford starter has two bolts. one on top and one on the bottom.

Unbolt the motor mounts and jack up the engine make sure the starter gear is not engaged.

As far as I know you better be looking for a second bolt. .I hada 51 flat head and im sure that had two bolts.

I would Wd40 it to death, it probably has a step surface your fighting ... that starter is worth some tlc
