You're saying they have a 4.0 but don't know to apply for legal citizenship?

There are many of us in that situation. Those opposed to illegal immigration might say illegal is illegal and don't care that you had no say about coming to this country. I think if you can prove you have been a productive citizen, lived an exemplary life, abide by all laws (I don't consider coming here illegally as breaking the law since you were too young to know better and did not make the decision yourself), then you should be given amnesty.

The only problem with this scenario is what about their parents? Who is going to raise this 3yr old until he/she is 18 and on their own?

They have to be expelled too. If the mom & dad came to the US illegally, then the law needs to bechanged to not allow the Illegal offspring to get instant citizenship... to punish Illegal parents, they should be deported and their child be put into stat ran foster care, where all the sick, pedophiles work or better yet, use them as slave labor.

I am willing to risk everyone's anger by saying this--The blame falls on their parents, so why is it up to the US to make it up to them? Why do you think they should rightfully be able to claim a job or a spot in college when that means one of our own citizens will be deprived of it? Can you at least think about that? We don't have endless opportunities here for anyone who wants them, even if he/she is the most upstanding hard working person in the world. And there is so much demand for citizenship here that even that person needs to wait their turn.

I have a few friends like that, one of them has been here since she was 4 or 5, she graduated from ASU last year, but couldn't get her teaching certificate because she's ilegal. BTW, she paid for her education herself. I think that people like her should be able to get their residence.

A great canidate for amnesty! They have proven to be a responsible person and they should be allowed to stay, what fault is it of theirs that there parents came here years ago?

That would be a double standard would it not? If you are an illegal, you are an illegal plain and simple. To say that group A that has a good school academic record is better than group B that has a 1.0 grade average is better is wrong. An illegal is an illegal and is just what they are, someone who is breaking the law and needs to be treated and deported as such.
