Faith provides the confidence to not seek evidence or proof.
Real faith is fairly rare, which is why you see so many less-than-confident believers here frantically claiming to have evidence or proof of their religious beliefs.

Well, here is where I break with the conventional wisdom. Faith is the belief that the universe is a stable place and that what has been proven will continue to be true. Believing that the Sun will rise tomorrow as it has for centuries is an example of faith. Believing that your son will be on time becuase he always has been is faith. (Confidence is knowing you're right because you just saw him pull in.)
Blind faith is the belief in something without any evidence to support it. Many religions rely on blind faith.
Confidence is belief in oneself and your abilities, to have strong conviction that your opinions and beliefs are based on strong, true foundations.

con‧fi‧dence Pronunciation[kon-fi-duhns]
–noun 1. full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing: "We have every confidence in their ability to succeed."
faith Pronunciation [feyth]
–noun 1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: "faith in another's ability."
Confidence is simply knowing that you are safe in putting your trust in a certain thing or person. Faith would have to be used to demonstrate confidence, and vise versa. For example, the faith I have in Christ Jesus enables me to be confident of the fact that I am going to heaven when I die or He returns. God bless!

This is all just how it comes to ME.
You can have confidence in Christ, to take care of you--
and it GIVES you confidence, to KNOW that He is taking care of you
Faith is KNOWING that Christ is taking care of you, even though you don't see it.
Still, I think faith GIVES you confidence.
you know what I mean? Think about it.
The difference?
If you are talking about religious confidence and religious faith, I don't think there is a whole lot of difference.

Very good question Kalidas,
Confidence is the will-power (so-to-speak) to follow through with what your faith has brought to you.
