then explain why you did what you did. i mean honestly a sorry isnt enough if you did something wrong. he deserves an explanation

You could start by apologising to him, but I find just words are too empty and meanigless, but easily spoked. If you were violent and abusive, that indicates a problem on your part. Get some help in ocntrolling that and tell him. Offer him to help you. SHow him he means something to you. There is probably a lot of repairing that needs to be done, and nothing to say that it will work. You may never get him back as a boy friend but you may get him back as a friend and also may get his respect again

Apologize, tell him you're going to get some counseling for being violent and abusive - and then get the counseling!

You need to apologies and maybe get him a gift.I would say at this point in time he is upset. Time heals, or at least that is what they say. Say you were wrong and that you never want to fight with him again, mean it though, do not just say it. He will forgive you, if you really loves you and you really love him.

Humble yourself and apologize sincerely. Just don't be surprised if he doesn't forgive you right away or doesn't want you back in his life. NO ONE should EVER have to put up with violence and abuse!

Express yourself to him if you're really sorry. If he doesn't accept it then not much else you can do.
