Because it gets too close to the truth they (we) work overtime to keep you in check.
Unfortunately, it seems we must each come to see truth for ourselves. I don't know what the catylist for this is, but for me the path was something along these lines:
1. feel a deep love for humanity, as Jesus did.
2. determine to reach out in love to the world.
3. when reaching out, think of how you would want to be approached...that is, to be listened to with respect and an openmindedness and to not come with an agenda.
4. When hearing with your open mind and heart, you will begin to notice disturbing little clues that you -just maybe- may not hold the market on what Love is.
5. You feel genuine respect, genuine Love and listen more.
6. You become willing to look at yourself through their eyes. Hold on to your hats. What you see may fill you with dispair.
7. Don't dispair. Remember that you are who you are because of many factors and many of those were out of your control.
8. Take a risk. Risk thinking in non-christian terminology. Try to find neutral words for the important lessons that you hold most true in the faith. I would suggest Jesus' "Greatest Commandment" found in Matthew.
9. When you have restated the commandment with non faith based language, read it aloud. Is it just as true? I think you will be surprised to find that it is!
10. You may have an ah-ha moment. You may feel like a film has been removed from your eyes. The new sight will feel uncomfortable and you will squint and even take cover back in dark rooms sometimes (this is where I find myself).
11. In time and with patience and self love, you will dare to remain in the new brightness longer and longer.
My dear Christian brothers and sisters. I would bring you across if I could but as you can hear, I am still too new to help. Listen to compassionate non christians who are trying so hard to help. Theirs is a gift of great Love. They are trying to shake you (and me) free of Fear. Jesus would have been so pleased!

If I were perfect, they'd nail me to a cross. The truth is, my imperfections, my temper, my hypocrisy, and my never ending lack of faith are the reasons I NEED Jesus. If I didn't screw up, then I would have no need of help to get me in a right standing with God again.
And, just as a side note, most people don't take directions from someone who doesn't live in the area. If you have genuine interest in getting Christians back on the right path, you might want to move into the neighborhood so you know the streets better!

bobkgin - i didn't look in the link you provided, but I am a Christian. I think others who trust Christ should accept criticism and accept when people call them a hypocrit for doing something "unChrist-like." Christian or non-Christian alike - we are all probably alittle hypocritical in some areas if we are honest with ourselves. It is easy to see Christian hypocrisy. Rather than get defensive - we should accept it and learn from it. Jesus doesn't call us to be hypocrits...we do make mistakes, but just as you'd not appreciate it when someone points a finger in your face for your mistakes - I'm sure any Christian would like the same courtesy. I hope that made sense

understanding what i understand approximately you and your son, i might say i may well be happy with it, yet like monkeykitty83 mentioned, enable them to understand the variety you stumbled on the touch training first so it would not look stalkerish (no longer asserting you're, i wish you know what I propose). in simple terms thinking although... how lots does he understand approximately you? Have they advised him the explanation why you relinquished? i'm thinking if the quantity of touch must be in line with how he feels approximately it. Like if he's on the degree the place he desires to understand you or if he's indignant, something alongside those lines. Then the different concern you suggested earlier... his sisters. Does he understand approximately them? i will understand how that's killing you yet i think of it is going to must be at his %.. The worst which could ensue is they say no. he would be 18 in some years and he would be unfastened to seek for you as he desires. stable luck. i wish anybody would be open to the belief.

Well I clicked on your link before i answered this question. Arabia isnt the only place to preach the gospel, the entire globe is the mission field. There are millions of non christians here in the bay area. Does that mean every one of us should abandon California and head to Arabia? No, God sends those who truly seek to please Him, wherever HE sees fit, i know christians who head all over the world to spread the gospel. I'm not in Arabia cause my call for now is here. In Northern cal. Should the time come when God says "now go preach in Arabia" I will go. No fear, no excuses. I believe in all the Bible teaches me. So I'd go without hesitation. Arabia is a very small place in the whole of Earth.

They hate having their fantasies and delusions shattered. It is just like telling a child that there is no Easter Bunny, they just can't accept it, it breaks their little hearts. But at least the child grows out of it, xians on the other hand will always prefer mythology over reality.

Our hypocrisy or just your ignorance? As I said, there are many missionaries in Islamic countries, but it is not that well known since Christian missionary work in these countries is illegal.
My church had two missionaries in Afghanistan before the Taliban kidnapped them (see article).
Stop advertising your stupidity, if you don't mind.
