In other words, if one has an MD title, what job should he take to have the highest net income.

They surveys show that cardiovascular surgeons, followed by neurosurgeons are the most highly compensated. However, I met a plastic surgeon who says differently. He says that the vast majority of customers have to pay cash for cosmetic work. They pay in advance of the surgery and there are no insurance hassles or managed care fee reductions that reduce the doctor's revenue for these patients.
