The one with confirmed parvo will need fluids, but most vets will send you home with an IV bag, to give the fluids under the skin at home..They charge about $20 per bag, and he will need about 2 bags..He has a very good chance for recovery, as he is 5 months old..and that age recovers better than younger ones..
If the other pups were vaccinated at the same time as the sick one, when they were younger..then there was something wrong with the vaccine..likely it was allowed to get too warm, as often happens..Yes, they are likely to get it too...However, the recent vaccination may help tickle their immune system to fight it better..It takes roughly 5-10 days to advance to the full-blown disease, so the shots may, or may not have helped in time..
The older dog likely has it too..but to older dogs, it is usually more like a flue, and not as dangerous...
You have time, if you act early in the morning, to get meds in advance for the other dogs/pups...
Contact Marina Zacharias, at Natural Rearing...http://www.naturalrearing.com/how_to_contact_us.htm
Try the phone first..and if you can't catch her or her dad (a retired vet) then email..she answers emails quickly..and tell her you need the parvo remedy...she is very inexpensive, and will likely bill you for it...She lives to help dogs..a wonderful, and informed Holistic Practitioner..
I have also heard from users of Parvogard that it has worked for their dogs..One friend drove 2 hours to get it, and she says it saved her entire litter..however, I, myself haven't tried it..this site promises super-fast delivery..see what you think>> http://www.parvoguard.com/?gclid=CNTYxJaUw4cCFR0dYAodVUF8HA
I'll sure be praying for you and yours..Let me know how they do..

It's never a good idea to use home-made remedies. And all people medicine is not the same as dog medicine....only some are the same. How long has he been sick? How long has it been since you saw the vet? Only wait a day after you see the vet to contact him again. Because if he's not better after a day you should call the vet for an update. The vet may change his opinion if the dog is not getting any better. Don't wait or be embarrassed to call. It's for your dog and you love him. Good luck.

has it had all of its first shots if not you need to get those done right away!! Try a new vet!! Call around and see which ones in your area do payment plans but if you love him so much you will spend the money on him to get him better! There like newborn babies! If your child was sick wouldn't you take it to the docter?? and if they didn't get better wouldn't you take it back to the docter?/ If it hasn't had it's first shot that could be why it's sick in the first place. If he doesn't get food or water in his diet he could become dehydrated and then he needs a I.V. to get some fluids in him!! Your best chance is to get the little guy some help real soon!! Good luck and I hope your puppy gets better!!

Puppies have extremely sensitive stomachs. Think of them like babies. You need to start off slow and simple, and work your way from there. You don't feed a 5 month old baby a steak, right?
Make sure to feed a high quality puppy food, with small sized kibble. Always use kibble, not cans. Cans aren't as good for your dog, and it sometime causes diahrrea. Limit treats, and try to avoid any human food that serves no nutritional value. (we used to feed our dog cheetos, but it's not smart. poop came out orange. not pretty)
Here are a few pet foods sites worth looking at. Feed small portions, 2-4 times a day. If the dog has trouble with the kibble, wet it with a small amount of water, and slowly cut back the water amount day by day until there is none at all.
Once the dog gets older (7-8 months and beyond, with no problems) you can start adding dog treats, peanut butter, and other goodies.
Good luck!

Try immodium it's for diarehea. Most animal medications are just smaller doses of human medications. Go by the weight to determine his dosage. That will help with the vomiting and Diarehea. If this does not stop soon you will need to take it to the vet again because constant diarehea and vomiting will cause dehydration. He may need an IV to help with fluids don't let the vet tell you it is nothing tell him he needs to do domthing and don't leave until he does do somthing. Also you may want to reconsider your vet and try another recomended one who will listen to what is wrong with your dog.

If your dog is having trouble keeping anything down he can become dehydrated and may need fluids given by your vet. If he is not better in a day or 2 I would either call your vet again or get a second opinion.

Oh no, I'm really sorry!! I think the best thing to do, if he did eat something bad, is to just wait it out. Try to make sure he drinks, and sleeps as much as possible. Don't take him for walks until he gets better, b/c he shouldn't exert himself for a little while. And make sure he doesn't eat anything weird. You might want to try switching dog food for a while, just in case that's what the problem is.

Do you see any mucus or blood in the vomit or stool. My first reaction is that this is nothing to fool with. Sounds a lot like Corona Virus or Parvo. Both of which can be real trouble

I agree get him fully checked out, could be worms, or intesinal blockage. Some vet will help you out in payments like pay this amount now and then some later type of thing. Also if you don't like that vet try a different one, call and ask around for prices.

Did the vet check your pup for parvo or distemper? You could try feeding him some rice cereal, like baby cereal, it is very easy on the stomach and easily digested. Good luck to you and your pup.
