Maybe try rewarding her for paying attention. For a reward, try taking her to a place that she enjoys for every day, week, month (whatever you want) she does a good god being focused.

It sounds like your daughter may have Attention Deficit Disorder. Not to frighten you..children with these disorders are very bright but lose their attention quickly.........I have children with learning disabilities and had the same time of problem.

Two choices.......pay to get her privately tested 0R put a note in writing to your school principal saying that you want your daughter tested for a learning disability. By law they cannot refuse. If there is a problem, they will work with her. If there isn't a problem, maybe she was too young to start school.

All 3 of my children were tested in 1st grade and I'm glad they were. There was plenty of time to help them...
My boys graduated HS and my daughter is now a great student in math and science but still need resource help in SS, English and Writing.......but she's improved greatly and her attitude regarding school is much better.
Good Luck!

First, turn off Sesame Street and the like. Great shows but they break things up into 30 second episodes so kids never have to develop an attention span.

Try reading to her or making games when you go out, "How many red cars do you see?", etc.

Don't try to pack too many things into her week. Home, school and one activity a week is plenty for a child her age.

Is she emotionally immature?

Have you considered RITALIN?
