I must admit... I loved them.. well written with Biblical foundation... oh, don't get me wrong, I didn't say I thought they were "Fact" just wildly entertaining.... what did you think?

Whether the books were well written, and deserve any kind of literary accolade is merely subject to opinion. There is no right or wrong answer with regards to this. Some think it is a well-written story. I think much of the narrative borders on the juvenile, and comes across as a bit too didactic to be considered entertaining.

With that said one point of your question, that I have to disagree with is the fact that you think it has a solid biblical foundation. I think the “Left Behind” series distorts many biblical texts that were intended to be read as commentary on the time period in which the prophets and disciples lived. Unfortunately, Jenkins and Lahaye parlay these passages, using a highly disputed interpretive framework, to make it seem as if the biblical writers were referring to our time period.

Ultimately this distortion of our theology is grounded in the loose interpretation of words and an ignorance or willful disregard of history. Moreover, I think the “Left Behind” series is ultimately damaging to Christianity as a whole because it reduces it to pop culture noir, replete with simple solutions to profound spiritual problems. One should not water down the greatest religion in the world to be similar to B-rated horror pictures. As Christians, our attempts to make our message more accessible should not impinge upon the substance of our faith.

I thought they were okay, interesting enough obviously since I read them all. I think CS Lewis was a much better writer (he was a wordsmith) and I liked out of the silent planet and perelandra much more. But Left Behind were good enough to keep me interested. This may seem cruel but Chloe really got on my nerves!

How about the films? The first two were okay and they did follow the book's story line, the 3rd one I didn't like at all. They left the storyline and added a bunch of explosions and expanded the place of the US president from the minor (and probably much more realistic) role he'll have at the time the anti-christ is on the rise.

I have read the Left Behind books. I thought they were great reading. And non biblical. I didn't see any biblical truth to the rapture in them. But I did see biblical back up to the salvation that was in these books. I look forward to the movies if they make anymore.

I have read all 12--the first 11 I read in 12 days. They are very interesting apocolyptic stories based on "facts" from the Bible. Too many people took them waaaay too seriously. I am an atheist but they definately were very fun to read if your into good fiction books.

Agreed i have read them all also and enjoyed them a great deal.

While it is a fictional representation of some of the things the scriptures tell us about the final days.... it is informative... and if ONE person reads the left behind series and turns to Gods word to see what it actually says.... and comes to know the Lord..... then they are worth every page printed in its entirety

Every last one of them ! Could not put them down, loved them. Most of them are a Novelization of Biblical Teaching, and there is room for disagreement, but they teach as closely what we believe will be happening as it can get. We really can't say exactly what will be happening on Earth during the Tribulation. We see through a window darkly.......

I listened to the whole series on CD. I really enjoyed them, and believed they were well written. I believe they are fact based, according to the Bible. They really made me stop and think. Actually after listening to them I started going to church. And just a couple months ago I gave to life to the Lord.
