The Bible is just like any other book. You read it for fun, or just something to do.
The problem is some people go further.

I just had to put my two cents in here...those that are Christian are always saying that if you don't believe in "their god, or their book" that you will go to the burning place...but do they ever really "read" as in study the bible...and not just the parts they feel like...but some of the other areas.
Like the fact that Lilith, the first woman made is not in the King James version. That Lilith left with Lucifer, the angel of the morning and turned away from Adam. She became (according to the original scrolls) the mother of demons. It is that reason that the rib was used to "connect" the two so that Adam (men) would protect and care for Eve(women) who would serve and cleave to him.
Then of course we must make mention, within the Bible...go look it up..that God told his people to not associate with the "others". If you want to know, read the part about Cain being cast out and he went out of God's sight...(that's a good one if he's supposed to be everywhere..) and went to another land where he took a wife. The "other" people, and build a city there...hmmm?
And don't go saying he made other people later...reread the "beginning" The translated word used said God made man and woman in his image...the original scripture stated - The gods made man and woman in their image. The Hebrew word was plural...meaning gods or patheon..many gods. The translation was botched up on purpose. It stated later in the Bible that God told his children to stay away from those "other" people. They were not his children.
So technically, his "children" are the hebrews...later I guess with Christ the idea was to include the "other" people if they could be converted. But I doubt that Christians were supposed to try to "cram down the throat" their beliefs. It's basically, offer the word and then go on your way...force was not part of it. Though that isn't how many interpret it...Frankly, I believe that everyone has the birthright to find and follow their own path...and not have one forced upon them. Below I offered a little food for thought....
Frankly, I'd rather be a goat than a sheep, I prefer being informed and independent than just following a larger being about to shepherd me and keep me safe...especially so I don't go walking off a cliff. You know, they actually have mules in sheep herds now to watch over them...so it doesn't take much intelligence to care for the flock...just common sense. Think I'll stick with the goats and climb to some lofty peaks to get my answers...lol

ok, first of all, the bible and christianity are not wrong. And Adam and Eve was before Jesus Christ. Their time does not apply to Jesus' time on earth and so has nothing to do with the anti christ. And it does not state that any where in the bible that a baby born of incest is a sign of the anti christ. Their are people born out of incest all the time. Incest is a sin, but not a sign of the anti christ. email me at swordhonestyriver@yahoo.com so we can talk more on this.

Any person who looks for fault and continually picks apart the Holy Bible, will never find the right true answers. If you look for the Negative, you will never find the Positive. So the Bible is doing you no good. You are not learning from the Bible, you are mocking the word and trying to prove your point. You will never win. You will only become a confused person, wandering around with no wisdom.

ya know, u are right, the Bible is very confusing, and contradicting at times. Some folks say that the Bible has final authority, but I say God has the final authority. Don't not believe that Jesus is the way just cuz the Bible is confusing. It was written by Christians who were genuinly trying to share their views of Christianity, and just cuz they weren't perfect, doesn't mean that everything's false!

Yes the Bible seems to contradict itself at times, but to the serious Bible student it does not have any contradictions.
The dead sea scrolls were the product of a corrupt religion, written by men who hatted God, and His Son. They had many pagan beliefs and practices that God found abomination.

Ironically, you forget that our government contradicts itself. It lies, it cheats. Our politicians must be smoking some serious things as well. Your argument can apply to almost anything.
But it's still our government. It's still America, and we still have a right to change it. Also, keep in mind that things like the Bible, Quran, Torah, etc. were written oh...a LONG time ago. Your modern thought process was completely different from their's. That, and as time has gone by, different interpretations have brought different ideas and additions.
Don't judge religions based upon their holy books, especially ones that have had major revisions to it.

It is sad that in the 21st Century we still have people that prefer to believe 2,000 yr old mythology written by ignorant men instead of just taking a moment to really examine the world around them. It is doubly sad that they refuse to listen to the very people that are trying to help cure their insanity. Fundies are a lost cause. Xianity is a mental disorder characterized by delusions and illogical thinking.

the bible was written by very human men with a classic agenda: greed and power. the church wanted to be in charge and run everyones' life for their own profit. quite a shock, eh? sounds faintly familiar does it not? and, strangely, that's still the agenda today. perhaps that's part of the intelligent design associated with the no growth plan for consciousness. no growth= the charlatans, crooks and liars remain in charge. sheeple/clones, get a clue and some creativity--think for yourself. ;-)

The bible just tells you about Adam and Eve, but that doesn't mean that God didn't create more people later! Believe what you want, it's a free country, but remember that this country was based on freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.....

aaah, that's not fair. if the nice people want to believe that a bunch of stuff written a couple of thousand years ago by some guys and selectively thrown together is divine and has a message they can seriously contemplate living a 21st century life by, why don't you let the simpletons have their book?
play nicely, now.
