my former hubby took off to Canada in January 2006 and owes me 13k in child support. I have not received a child support payment since he has left the states.I need to get him back in the us so I can persue this issue thru the courts. he is not working (legally) just "under the table" to survive.

Not legally. Report him to immigration if you know where he lives.

Sounds like hes gone! Move on! There are plenty of single mothers/ fathers out there that take care of their children with no support from the other! I am not trying to be negative but he went out of his way to get out of child support and if he stays up there you will probably never see a dime.

Guess he can since he is doing it. If you can prove he is working adn he doesn't have a work visa you could cause him real trouble. Why not cut your loses and ask the court to remove his parental rights. If he owes you 13 K now, what makes you remotely think he will ever pay.

Nobody can live anywhere without a job or people who have jobs unless Canada has a good welfare system.
