I got tired of bashing Christians last night, so I just became one.

I'm leaning towards Catholic, but I'm not sure yet.

Congratulations!
I believe that Jesus came to the earth to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God. I decided to join into a non-denominational Christians church where the Bible is the center of teaching. Christianity is a life style. I believe that the Bible is God's life manual for us, and that is why want to study His word.

I have a Lutheran background, so I have been baptized as a baby. However, even though my parents wanted to do the right thing for me...once decided to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I knew that was the thing that no one can decide on my behalf...and I got baptized again.

It is important that you will find a right church for you, where they can feed you spiritually. Look around. Be like a little Goldilocks, try them out until you feel what is right for you. Religion cannot save you, Jesus can.

There are many diffrent churches its not wrong to check out diffrent ones. The most impoirtain thing it too make sure you read you bible. Cuz there are some wierd churches out there. If you read you will have a foundation to stand on, and know if they are teaching the truth or not. The bible was not writen to be a enigma. Also pray to God for guidance. Im 20 and I go to a foursquare church, http://www.foursquare.org/ . I have gone there since I was a kid and i love it. Good books to read, now that you are a new Christain are, in the bible of course, any of th first 4 books of the new testimant, acts ,romans , if you have any question feel free to email me.

I think you should visit different denominations until you find one that you like. I have found myself that since I became a Christian last year that there are so many denominations out there that I don't feel that there is one that is 100% accurate, however, I have found a church that I really like and have become very involved in. I'm just happy that you decided to change your life. I hope that you find peace and love in finding out everything you can about the Father and all the wonderful promises He has made to those that choose to follow Him and believe Him. God Bless and Good Luck!

The first thing you need to do is have a copy of the scriptures. If you do not have one feel free to email me and I will gladly send you one. or you can visit http://www.eveningdew.com/ and download free bible software on your computer.

I recommend the book of John as a starting point for new Christians. The book of John is a foundation gospel chocked full of what a Christian is... why we believe what we believe and many of Gods promises for you.

Once you begin to learn Gods word... I recommend you look for a "Bible teaching" church.... many churches today teach more of their own denominational teachings than the word.... Talk to area Pastors... find out what is important to them... the mission statements of their churches ect..... make an informed decision that will further your walk with God.... not what may seem a "popular" church just because alot of people attend there.
Remember your walk with God is a personal relationship and should be looked at from a personal standpoint not what others may say.... but a matter of prayer for you.

God bless you will be keeping you in prayer :)

If this is something you are serious about, and it definitely should be, then I would suggest interviewing a few church leaders in your area and then deciding what church you would like to go to and grow spiritually in, based upon the answers you receive from them.

Ask them questions about what they believe and why they believe it. #1. You want to attend a church that is focussed on helping you in your growth, so this will be a good indicator of whether they are willing to help you or not #2. This will give you a relational connection with someone in the church that will help you along as you continue to grow and learn.

The Catholic thing is hit or miss. Catholic churches vary a lot from church to church. Hopefully, the Catholic church near you will have Franciscans! They're the best.

And WOW, and hadn't realized how many people dislike Catholicism.

I would recommend a non-denominational.

Find a Spirit filled Church, one that urges a relationship with Jesus Christ and pushes away from "playing Church" or being "religious." One that teaches ONLY from the Holy Bible. The translation doesn't matter (as long as it's NOT the New World Translation - not taken from the original manuscripts.)

Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.

Relationship is God's way of reaching man, through Jesus Christ.

Grace to you and God Bless!

If you became a Christian last night - you must've asked Christ into your heart. That is the only way to become a "Christian". Going to church and following the rites and rituals and proceeding of any Christian church doesn't mean you are a Christian. To truly become a Christian - you'll need to ask God to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins and trust Jesus as your Saviour.

The elders of the church (Orthodox) say that close to the tip circumstances the churches would be comprehensive and appropriate, reworked. it incredibly is actual no longer the church of Christ.
