I just became a Christian last night, after I got bored with bashing Christians.

I like the Catholic channel the best of all the Christian stations.

Oh, and please don't "warn" me about Catholicism or you'll bring out another bashing streak me in me.

Seriously, that's wonderful. I'm 24, I just became a catholic a little over a year ago.

It depends on your age. If you're under 18 you'd have to go through some other means. I'm not sure exactly. I suggest finding a parrish and talking to the priest. You can call and make an appointment.

If your over 18 you need to enroll in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). It's a class (they start like next week in my parrish) and it meets every week up until Easter. Then at Easter you get baptised (if you've never been) and more than likely will get confirmed and anointed with holy oil. Then you'll take your first holy communion.

It can be a long hard journey, but don't give up. I'd suggest going to a parrish and talking to a priest. Dont' give up on the catholic church please. Some things you can do now are learn how to pray the rosary and such. I went to www.catholic.org to learn a lot of prayers. There's also Catholic Answers Forum. It's...ok. The internet's kind of a shaky place to find answers about catholicism. There's a LOT of lies. Seriously.

I could tell you a lot more about the whole thing if you'd like, just e-mail me. There's nothing stopping you from going to mass on Sunday now. You're perfectly welcome. Just don't take communion until you've been baptised and let into the church. I made that mistake.

When I first started becoming interested I used to just sit in the church and pray and go to mass. Of course, I would stress to hurry now because RCIA classes might have already started where you are.

p.s. That's a bunch of b.s. about it costing all this money. At least it should be. When I came to RCIA they didn't charge me anything. They gave me two free books, plus cookies and soda at every meeting. Not only that but in the process I met someone else who gave me a bible, and a rosary that had been blessed by the pope. I found out just a few weeks ago that there's supposed to be a $25 fee for materials (which I did recieve many) if you join RCIA. However, no one ever asked me for any money. In fact my pastor said getting our money was the last thing he was concerned about.

First see a priest, not a computer or a TV.

He will ask you some questions to make sure it is of your own free will, and that you are not just getting back at your parents or want to aggravate your in-laws.

If you have no friends at the parish you are near, go to one that does. If you have no Catholic friends at all, they are easy to find, just talk to the priest.

RCIA starts in September. Don't miss it. You can quit anytime. No one will bug you or send you junk mail, or I will kick their a.s.s.

If you decide, after being more informed, that you still want to be Catholic, the usual time for formal induction into the Church is Easter time. Its one of those horrible traditions that the early Christians started, but exceptions are just as normal too.

The Catholic Church recognizes the baptism of a majority of main-line Protestant churches as a valid baptism, so you may not need that sacrament. This is totally puzzling to anti-Catholics.

If you hate being bashed, and want to become a Catholic, stay off the computer, or

get involved in some great discussion forums. This one is good because you don'tget lost in the crowd:

This one is massive:

These forums have a lot of freedom for people to mouth off and say what they want, but the line is drawn at flat out mindless bashing we see on yahoo Q&A

If you are serious and start now you can be fully initiated in the Catholic Church at the 2007 Easter Vigil Mass, the night before Easter.

If someone is in danger of death, things can happen very quickly.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

With love and prayers in Christ.

You are already a Catholic, it's the universal church!

For my real answer, I'd suggest just ignoring all that Baptism/Confirmation stuff. Just start going to Mass. You'll start to catch on to all the appropriate moments on when to stand up and sit down and chant something.

Now if you want to be a REAL Catholic, you will have to stop attending mass. Yep, that's what we do. Then you can be, like the rest of us, a "C&E" (Christmas and Easter) Catholic. There's really very little effort involved.

WELCOME TO THE FAITH.

First, look at this link--

Click on the Catholicism link; and do some research. I wouldn't recommend becoming Catholic. There are quite a few differences from Christianity, in one sense of the word.

Sign up for the CCC (Catholic Crash Course) that I'm offering. It costs only $499 and you'll be catholic in less than 48 hours. Just go to www.makemeguilty.com and click on the button 'I am a worthless sinner' and use paypal and... voila! You'll be a catholic in no time.
