Airbag sensors are on the front of the vehicle and not necessarily meant to go off during a rollover. I don't believe they places sensors to make air bags go off during a rollover.

I agree with the previous answer. As far as I've been told, airbags are not to go off unless it's a front end collision. This is because the airbag sensors are located in the front end of the vehicle, usually behind the headlights. The airbags could cause more injury and even death in other types of accidents.

Air bags are not supposed to deploy in a rollover.
Air bags are designed to protect against impact injury in frontal or side collision.
They deploy, and then deflate in a fraction of a second, and *will not* 'hold you in place'.
They are *designed* to work best when the occupant is belted.
You should always wear the belts, whether you have airbags or not.
