The "fuzzy white mold" you refer to is actually efflorescence. Check out the wikipedia link for a short explanation. The best way to clean it off is to buy Muriatic Acid (hydrochloric acid). Follow the directions on the side of the bottle and be careful!! Work in a well ventilated environment because it causes some nasty fumes. After the area has dried, paint it with Dry-Lok to prevent water from seeping back into the wall. Hope this helps!

its called efflorescence, its the calcium salts leaching out of your basement walls, scrape it of with a stiff wire brush, and you can wash it down with dish soap with bleach in warm water. Rinse it off with clean water, and let it dry. You may need to think about painting those walls

I've used Tilex and a scrub brush with good results myself. Just be careful to keep the area well ventilated or use a respirator mask, Tilex has a couple of strong chemicals in it.

fair enough to clean it off - but you may find it is due to dampness and you may have a problem with a leak.

strong bleach..be careful bleach is powerful as u know already.
