my 5 week old keeps coughing and it seems like its getting worse.

I suspect you are asking about croup....it is a wet congested sounding cough.
Has your five week old been vaccinated against whooping cough? If not, you'd best get him/her to a doctor.

You mean, Croup. It sounds like a barking cough. You should go ahead and take your child to a health care professional.

it is a dry barking cough. keep an eye on it. my son got it. he was fine all day and i put him to bed. with in 3 hours he awoke with a dry deep sounding cough. he had trouble breathing started turning blue. called an ambulence they tried nebulizer treatment on him and oxygen. got to the hospital they gave him water treatments in the nebulizer to return the moisture. he stopped coughing they watched him 24 hours and we went home he was fine.
