why do most people go for looks?

because they are hoping to find love wrapped in a very nice package i guess. Physical attraction is great and is usually what starts the process of dating,..but if you get to know the person for who they are, and start falling for the person within,...that's when love is blind i think.

Love may be blind, but it doesn't happen from the get-go. Appearances are one way that we as human beings notice people; it's a fact of life.
Love is something that happens after you get to know someone. Sometimes love happens between friends, people that know each other and that's when appearances mean less.

I have to be somewhat physically attracted to someone to have any interest at all.
I have always thought the phrase 'love is blind' means that if someone does you wrong, you can never see it because you will always think that they love you and would never do anything to hurt you.

Not everyone goes for looks. But do you want your boy friend( or girl friend) to look like he or she to look ugly and they wear 80's clothes ? no! ( unless you are blind for love)
