The Christian motto or Code of Behaviour is, "Do Unto Others as you would have them Do Unto You."

Being a practicing Wiccan, our motto is, "Do what you will. Harm none."

Do other religions have mottos like this? If so what is the motto for Islam, Jeudaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, let alone the plethora of religious and faith based spritual paths that are out there? Not only that, is there an agreed upon motto for athesits and agnostics?

Thank you, in advance, for enlightening me.

"Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal rule"

We have no official motto, but this is what I think sums up the Buddhist attitude

BTW, you've got the Christian motto wrong. That phrase was coined as the "golden rule" by confucius and is that religions motto. He coined it several hundred years before Christs was born. I would think their motto wouls be judge not lest ye be judged or let him without sin cast the first stone or turn the other cheek.

Actually Pippy poo, the line you are looking for is the last couplet of the wiccan rede, it is properly stated, "And it Harm none do what thou wilt." Also NOT ALL WICCANS subscribe to this since it was written by doreen valiente some time in the mid 60's. Everyone on the wiccan path has their own Ideas and we have no central dogma, so quit trying to impose it on us. By the way my favorite creed comes from Thelema, "Love is the whole of the law, love under will."

Atheists and agnostics are not a cohesive group. So no mottos, other than personal ones. People seem to think there's some sort of bizarro anti-church that non-religious people go to. It isn't true.

Love Shepherd: Nice. You came in, saw that you had the choice of either bashing someone else, or sharing your own beliefs, and you chose to bash. Good to see those christian values at work. Nice priorities.

Hm... that's actually a really intriguing question. Honestly I'm not sure. I know that atheism (that would be secular) doesn't embody any one mindset or outlook. I guess I'd go with Bill and Ted who said "be excellent to each other".

Agnostics: What? Which? I just dunno.

Athiests: I am going to deny God until I finally realize that I'm wrong.
