When I was little my mom set up one of those games where it's like you go fishing-you throw a makeshift rod over a board or a divider and when it gets thrown back out it has a prize on the end. Something else that was fun is to break out dress up clothes-you can even go get some for cheap at Goodwill or somewhere-and have a fashion show, with a prize for the best costume. You can also get the cheap little girl makeup and have a makeover. Good luck with the party!

Balloons: get lots of them blown up for the following games:

Knee race: Girls have the balloon in between their knees and have to race round the room or from room to room without popping them.

Balloon stuffing: 1 X large Shirt, 1 X large jogging bottoms
Teams of 2 on a time limit to go into a room where all the balloons are and they have one person wearing the Shirt and the other one wearing the bottoms and they have to put as many of the balloons inside the clothes without popping them. Winner is the team with the most balloons inside the clothes. This can be played in different ways, as they can take it in turn to wear either of the garments or they can take it in turns to wear both.

Disco Balloon pops: This is the best one, instead of musical statues or musical bumps you play the music and when you stop it they have to jump on the balloons to pop them.

Balloon pick up: same again with the music and when you stop it they have to pick up as much of the popped balloons as possible and put them into a black bag before you put the music back on.

Pin the tail on the donkey with a difference: use a stuffed toy and improvise.

Apple bobbin: but core the apples and put some coins inside so they not only get the apple they get some pennies.

Hunt the green smarties, - (good for the garden)

Iran abrownie pack for three years and every year we had Im a Brownie get me out of here, (you could have I'm a ten year old get me out of here!0 where we divided the girls in to teams and they each had a team name! we played various games and they teams had to choose a teammember suited to that particular type of game i.e a memory game or a skill game. decide on points of each task and award them to the team comming 1st 2nd etc. prizes at the end to the team with the most points and small prizes to all form taking part.
Some games we had were 2 from each team sat opposite across a table one is given a bowl of ready made custard or somthing gooey and a spoon .the aim is to feed as much custard into the partners mouth as poss Messy but fun. Make bowls of mashed jelly, cooked pasta spagetti, baked beans. or other slimey stuff one from each team to guess what it is Blindfolded obviously. Add in some memory games like guess the flavour of crisps then five mins later write them down in order. Along with anything else you can come up with. they always had a great time and so did we. hope you find somthing !!!

A treasure hunt with clues hidden around your house or a scavenger hunt with lots of odd objects are always good and will keep them busy for ages. Also the chocolate game is a thing of genius. Sit kids in a circle. Take a very large chocolate bar ( and if you want to be really mean freeze it) and place it in the middle of the circle. also place a hat, scarf, coat and pair of gloves and a knife and fork. The object of the game is that the kids each take it in turn to roll a dice. if they throw a six they have to dash into the middle of the circle put on the hat, scarf etc, pick up the knife and fork and cut off the wrapper and then cut up the chocolate bar into squares. when the next kid throws a six the kid in the middle has to remove all the bits and hand it to the next kid. they take the squares they've cut off and return to the spot in the circle and eat them. simple yet effective. Balloon games are always good. get them into two teams lined up behind each other and they have to do various things like pass the balloons over and under themselves. when the balloon gets to the back that person runs to the front and starts again. keep going til team are all back in their rightful places. 1st team wins. variation get them to use two bits of paper to get whole team from one end of room/garden to the other without touching the floor or furniture. Hide and seek in teams. Hope that helps

How about the memory one where you have a lot of objects on a tray?, you show everybody the tray for 3 minutes and then cover it up. Then take one of the objects away and show the kids again, they have to guess which object has been removed, the one who guesses wins a few sweets, its covered over again & something else is taken away, you carry on untill everything has gone.
Or a quiet one is a drawing competion, give everyone a paper plate and they have to draw a face on it,someone then votes the best picture.
Or the taste game, have a plate of different food stuff, ie salt sugar, treacle etc blind fold the kids & they have to guess what you put in their mouth.

pin the tail on the donkey..

or that bash the donkey game.. papermache animal with sweets inside.. hang from something like a tree and let the kids bash the hell out of it...

or how about a fancy dress competition with a prize for the best dressed person... obviously you would also have to give all the others that made a effort something.

You could also make the party a themed party.. ie.. halloween.. billiant ideas can be found on google for food and costumes..

How about the old "Pin the tail on the donkey" schtick? Worked when we were kids.
Badmitton was okay. Kept the kids quiet later because they were beat by the end of the party. Just have to watch for the occasional wild swing of a racket on someones skull.

Split the kids into 2 teams, have them run with a cotton ball on a spoon and dump it into a bowl, then tag the next person, they have to run with the cotton ball...of course if the cotton ball flies off, you have to go back to start, it is very funny watching kids do this.................

another great team event is again 2 or 3 teams, get gum that is wrapped up and have the kids wear the biggest work gloves you can get, have them race to unwrap the gum while wearing the giant gloves, it isn't that easy!!...When the first person unwraps the gum he/she passes the gloves to the next person, first team to unwrap their pieces wins!
