i just downloaded the windowa live messenger and the plus, but there is a problem...?

that i can not put a display picture it says "the file you selected is not a valid image file. please choose another one"
but none of them work, what can i do ?

Make sure the format for the pics in bmp gif or jpeg format. If that does not work try uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Messenger.

As well as selecting the format of the graphic you're trying to import, you may need to resize it.

what comes after the .? .bmp .gif .jpg .psd? what? edit your question then i'll edit my answer if the real answer.
