Wisdom is in knowledge, one cannot be wise on any topic without knowledge. For instance a Heart Surgeon most likely will not be able to rebuild a broken car engine, and like wise a mechanic wouldn't be able to repair a damaged heart. However if the doctor and the mechanic were educated in both fields then they would both be able to perform the operations.

According to holy writ, the love of HaShem is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom, however is illusive and easily missed, one must give all that one has in order to gain wisdom.
Again, one must be wise in order to be pious. For there can be no such thing as a pious fool. A pious fool who lost her piety would only be a fool.
