to speed up your metabolism, just eat a lot of fiber like vegetables, instead of starches.

First things first... Don't be unhappy! Get involved with things that make you happy! No matter what anyone tells you, being happy is the most important thing.

For loosing weight, fad diets, quick fixes, expensive diet pills etc... all have short term effects are are usually not healthy.

The best results I had (lost about 60 lbs about 3 years ago and kept it off) was a direct result of seeing a Naturopathic doctor. They teach you what to eat -- they don't limit the amounts to eat. They look at whole health, rather than fixating on weight loss. Your health benefits may even cover it (my work benefits covered alot).

There are two links below (first two are Canadian and the second is US).

Good luck and SMILE!!!!! :)

There was a study published today on ScienceDaily.com about brown seaweed, and how there is a substance in it that causes 5-10% loss of weight, almost completetly from the abdominal region. and if you read books on herbalism there are other such organic compounds, thouroughly researched, that can aid the body in shedding pounds... but to be honest none of that matters near as much as what you allready have said.. diet and excercise! you might also research the Glycemic Index, and learn how some foods shoot your blood suger up and down, while others bring it up and down gradually... not all high GI foods are bad (take watermellon for example) but a high GI food that is filled with empty calories is one of the worse things you could do to your body.

I don't think anything helps but eating healthy and exercise. It is very hard to loose weight. But hang in there you can do it. Go to the Weight Watchers sight on the Internet. Also splenda sight. They have some good help. Eat fruits and veggies and drank plenty of water.

Good Luck

There is NOTHING ... absolutely NOTHING that will speed up your metabolism except for exercise.

I feel your pain ... you're probably very busy ... but until you make the choice to eat right and exercise (both cardio and weight training), you will just be causing your weight to yo yo and you will never reach your goal.

Visualize the person you want to be. If you can't be that person immediately, visualize what that person does daily to look that way.

For example, the person you may want to be is "slender" and "healthy". Obviously we can't be that right away if we are over weight ... but that "slender" & "healthy" person also works out regularly ... and that is something you can do right away to be like the person you want to be.

It's a small step in acheiving your goal, but it will get you to wear you want to be. Trust me!!!

Eating healthy is the best thing, cut out the red meats, eat more fish, chicken and turkey without the skin and vegetables. Fruits are also quite healthy. Pastries, chocolate and icecream are fatting.

You may have a thyroid problem. You should have a physical to have that checked. They will prescribe medication for you that will regulate your thyroid. My sister had the same problem and after starting the pills, and with diet and exercise, she was able to lose more weight than she was when she wasn't on the medication. Hope this helps a bit and good luck to you.

Try to watch what you eat, drink lots of water and try to walk daily. There is lots of people out there who suffer just like you, hopefully one of them will help you, I know that Weight Watchers is a good group of people. Good luck to you,
