I normally put it in a jug of water. Make sure the jug is quite full and put the egg in, if it floats the egg has gone off, if it sinks it is still okay to eat.
Hope this helps I do it this way alot as always forget when I bought the eggs.

take the egg and put it into a glass of water if it sinks it's good if it floats it's bad. and you can always smell it

if it doesn't float in water and has been properly refrigerated and is not old it is probably good. Always crack eggs in a separate bowl before using in mixture or putting in skillet.

if in doubt throw it out, ther is nothing worse than the smell of a rotten egg

I think if the white is thick around the yellow then I think it's good, but if the white is runny, then I think it's old, might not mean it's bad, but if something is old, then I throw it out.

TEST IN A PAN OF WATER. IF EGG SINKS IT IS GOOD. IF IT FLOATS IT IS NOT GOOD. E.M.

if it floats do not eat it.....and you can smell bad eggs too

Not sure....but I'm pretty sure that deviled eggs are always bad...
